Dame Mary cuts ribbon - and cake - at unveiling of Outdoor Hospital Furniture

A high point of  summer was welcoming Dame Mary Berry, the universally acknowledged queen of baking, to Townlands Memorial Hospital to unveil the outdoor furniture donated by FROTH for the use of patients and staff.  The purchase was made possible by a large donation from Cote Brasserie, for which FROTH is very grateful. Dame Mary contributed a specially devised recipe for Townlands Lemon  Sandwich Cake for the occasion, and members of the committee were thrilled to share their versions (including a BBQ-baked attempt by FROTH Chair, Caroline Newton) with her.  

It was a good opportunity to raise awareness of how our charity supports Townlands Hospital, and how Townlands itself supports the local community.
